Acadly now has Zoom integration. Add that to the list! You can check out our demo video here.

As you start looking for the perfect classroom clicker platform or polling app for your classroom, you will find that they are known by many different names such as Student Response Systems, Audience Response Systems, Classroom Response Systems, and many more. Further to this, the solutions these days are available in hardware-based, and web/app-based deployment options.

And we understand that it is quite overwhelming to collect all the important details about them and ask the right questions. That’s why we have prepared this detailed classroom clickers and polling apps comparison infographic of the top 6 vendors.

About us

Acadly is a Student Response System and Attendance Automation platform, built specifically for higher education. It is being used by professors at over 400 universities.

References and notes

1. During our research, we found out about more than 25 remote-based classroom clickers. Since Turning Technologies and iClickers are the most popular clicker companies, we have included only them in this research and decided to keep this comparison concise.

2. The price of clickers depends on several factors such as the clicker model, manufacturer, and duration of ownership. This range is based on reasonable assumptions about the cost of ownership.

3. Acadly’s Free Plan offers limited use of several of our teaching features. Certain optional features are not included in the free trial.

4. Top Hat subscription amount is to be paid by students. It is assumed that students buy an annual subscription for $38/year. The per-semester cost is $26/semester.

5. Poll Everywhere subscription costs $700 for the teacher-pays pricing model, and $1400 for the student-pays pricing model.

6. The Word Cloud feature on Acadly was launched in Fall 2019. Here’s our blog post about it.

7. Ratings as of June 25, 2019. iOS app ratings are based on US AppStore data. Ratings on the AppStore vary by country.

8. Based on reviews for the Socrative teacher app. There is a separate student app as well.

9. LMS integration, an administrative panel, and a Learning Analytics module are all part of Acadly’s enterprise version. This functionality is not available with the free-for-professors version.

10. TurningPoint technologies and iClicker provide apps for iOS, Android, and Web. Other clickers providers may not have such support.

11. Turning Technologies offers Keynote integration but not all clickers provide the same.

12. Kahoot has a math keyboard that can be used to insert a number of math and science expressions, but it does not fully support LaTeX expressions.
